NOTICE - Marriott Marquis Hotel Project Office Trailer Removal 07/24 thru 08/01

Shaw residents take note, there will be disruption along M Street NW at 9th, including closures and no parking. Here's the notification;

The time has finally arrived for Hensel Phelps to have the Marriott project office trailers removed. Based on the experience we all had bringing the trailers in and per the comments received from everyone, we definitely looked at removing the trailers from the L street side to minimize disruptions. Unfortunately that path is not possible. There is a significant elevation change on the asphalt at that end (hence the retaining wall along the alley that gets taller and taller as you approach L Street), which prevents the crew from hooking up to the trailers and removing them safely. The crews are aware of the garage access and traffic pattern within the alley, and will make it a priority to minimize the time a trailer or truck/vehicle may block access or thru traffic.

There will also be M Street ‘No Parking’ signs posted today as we will need the space to swing the trailers out of M Street (See the attached illustration). This removal process is scheduled to begin Thursday 07/24/2014 (hauling may actually begin on Friday) thru Friday 08/01/2014 (though expected to be complete before then). Hensel Phelps will have an onsite superintendent named Paul Mancuso that can be reached outside at the trailers during this time, but if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Thanks

Also, we have been informed that some of the razor wire has been hanging a bit low along the fence. We have done a little maintenance to it but understand there are still some existing issues. We are continuing at work on that as well.
