RareSweets at CityCenterDC has Goodies for Cherry Blossom season & Easter for You

To celebrate the Cherry Blossom season, and staying true to her passion for history, RareSweets' chef/owner Meredith Tomason will feature a special Deviled Almond Ice Cream Sundae in honor of President William Howard Taft and First Lady Helen Taft, who accepted the original gift of the cherry blossom trees from the Japanese ambassador and his wife. Deviled almonds were President Taft's favorite snack, and ice cream was the Taft's' favorite dessert—so much so that they installed a special ice cream freezer into the White House kitchen, and kept a Holstein dairy cow which grazed on the White House lawn.
The President Taft Deviled Almond Sundae will be available from March 20th through April 12th for $7.50, and includes deviled almond ice cream, cherry compote, and hot fudge sauce.
The deviled almond ice cream will also be available by the scoop for $5.40 (small) and $6.40 (large). The ice cream base is steeped with toasted almonds, then churned and swirled with candied spice almonds flavored with maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

For Easter, RareSweets will offer
Chocolate Royal Iced Easter Egg Cookies for $2.50 each.
6- inch cakes in Lemon Rhubarb and Coconut flavors, for $35 each.
These 6-inch cakes will be available via special order by March 30th
Mini coconut cakes with cream cheese icing and coconut flakes on the outside will also be available in-store starting the last week of March, along with slices of Lemon Rhubarb cake made with lemon buttercream and rhubarb compote.
