LOGAN: Black Jack and Pearl Dive Oyster Palace Host Grower Champagne and Oyster Tasting - December 12th

On Saturday, December 12th, Black Jack and Pearl Dive Oyster Palace will host a tasting event featuring oysters paired with selections from the restaurant’s extensive grower Champagne menu. Black Restaurant Group’s sommelier, Joshua Pauley along with fishmonger MJ Gimbar, have collaborated on the tasting to offer complementary oyster and Champagne pairings, and will guide guests through the tasting.
Grower Champagnes, produced by families who own and grow the estate grapes used for their Champagne, will be paired with boutique oysters selected by fishmonger MJ Gimbar. Along with the Champagne and oyster pairings, passed apps including crawfish and oyster fritters, oysters gratin, fried oysters and endive bites with blue cheese and pomegranate will round out the offerings.

  • Andre Clouet Brut Reserve Grand Cru Bouzy, Montagne de Reims NV 
  • Paired with Raspberry Point Oysters / Prince Edward Island
  • Roland Champion Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Chouilly, Côte des Blancs 2006
  • Paired with Fancy Sweet Oysters / Caraquet Bay, New Brunswick
  • Jacques Lassaigne Extra Brut Montgueux, Aube NV
  • Paired with Pemaquid Oysters / Damariscotta River, Maine
  • Drappier Brut Nature Urville, Aube NV
  • Paired with Totten Inlet Oysters / Puget Sound, Washington
  • Maillart Brut Rose Grand Cru NV
  • Paired with Kusshi Oysters / Vancouver Island, British Columbia
Tickets are $75 per person and include six oyster and Champagne pairings (the five listed above, plus one more of guest’s choosing) and passed hors-d'oeuvres.

It is happening on Saturday, December 12th 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. At  Black Jack, located at 1612 14th Street, NW and is open for dinner and drinks Tuesday to Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Saturday from 3:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
