SHAW: Espita Mezcaleria Will Showcase Two Politically-Themed Cocktails, Available Throughout the 2016 Election Season

Espita Mezcaleria, the Southern Mexican-inspired restaurant located in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC at 1250 9th Street, NW, 20001, is pleased to debut two election-themed cocktails, which will be available on the seasonal beverage menu, just in time for fall.  Prepared by Beverage Director/Partner Megan Barnes, guests can opt for The Wall, made from a combination of mezcal, Campari, orange juice and soda, served on the rocks, reflecting the Republican party, For the Democratic libation of choice there is the Madam Presidenta served up and made from a combination of mezcal, Blue CuraƧao, El Dorado 8yr rum, lime and Orgeat syrup. Both cocktails are priced at $11 each, and they will be available from Tuesday, September 6th through Election Night on Tuesday, November 8th during both lunch and dinner service.  The restaurant will be conducting informal polling weekly to see which cocktail is outselling its lively competitor.

In addition to the seasonal craft cocktails list, Espita showcases an expansive, rotating selection of mezcals featuring many varietals and styles. Over 100 are available in one or two-ounce pours, a six-ounce carafe to share, as a choice of flights, or highlighted in the nine cocktails on the list. The bar program at Espita Mezcaleria also offers a boutique selection of red and white wines from Italy, France, Germany and Spain.
