WEST END: EastBanc Announces Pricing, Floor Plans & Private Previews of West End's Westlight Condominiums

EastBanc, Inc. is bringing luxurious city living to DC’s West End offering creme-de-la-crème features and amenities. The DC-based commercial and residential real estate development firm announced today the range of pricing for residential units at Westlight – a stunning, new upscale condominium property located at 1111 24th Street, NW presenting 71 exquisite residences overlooking Foggy Bottom’s Washington Circle with soaring views of capital monuments and DC landmarks.
Westlight is part of a mixed-use, ten-story, 328,000-square-foot LEED-certified building located just steps from downtown, Georgetown, The Kennedy Center and the White House. Westlight is comprised of one-, two- and 3-bedroom + den condominium units that range in size from 600-3,000 square feet.
The luxury building includes a 25-meter heated rooftop pool, expansive sundeck, fitness center, private club-room, business center and underground garage parking.
Prices range from $625,000 to $4.5 million. The sales team will begin private one on one preview appointments during the month of September prior to the October release of the first phase of units for sale. These preview appointments for potential buyers and brokers begin Monday, September 19.
Plans for the project also call for a new, state-of-the-art 21,000-square-foot public library, 7,300 square feet of upscale retail and an attached East Tower boasting 93 high-end rental units at 1110 23rd Street, NW, which includes a separate entrance, lobby and residence elevator. EastBanc projects delivery of Westlight in spring of 2017.
Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos of Mexico City, whose recent works include the New York Public Library, Miami Design District and Rutgers Business School, Westlight showcases an architecturally unique and dynamic aesthetic that incorporates exemplary urban design, architecture and landscape elements. The exterior exhibits a distinctive cantilevered glass building façade bathed in natural sunlight with vibrant cityscapes framed through floor-to-ceiling windows. Residents and guests enter into a dramatic lobby that features a 50-foot living green wall and an exquisite lighting sculpture by award-wining artist Ingo Maurer whose current works are featured at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The development team arrived at the building’s name “Westlight” for its West End location and abundant light-filled rooms.
Westlight features and amenities include:

  • Natural oak, wide plank hardwood flooring
  • Euro-chic kitchens with natural gas cook-tops, Italian high-gloss cabinetry and quartzite countertops
  • Spa-inspired bathrooms and IPE custom teak shower floors, Italian high-gloss cabinetry and Waterworks fixtures

“With the development of Westlight, we are creating a sophisticated urban retreat in the West End neighborhood,” says Anthony Lanier, president of EastBanc. “This dazzling property spans an entire city block and is designed to reveal a masterful expression of refined city living.”
In addition to Westlight, EastBanc is currently building Square 50, also designed by TEN Arquitectos, which features a 15,500-square-foot new, state-of-the-art West End Fire Station, a 54,000-square-foot Affordable Housing building with 55 units at 60 percent AMI or less along with six market-rate residential units and a one level garage with 24 parking spaces. The Square 50 mixed-use complex will also house Squash on Fire -- a world-class, tournament-ready squash facility with eight courts and a full-service restaurant.
Both complexes are being built as a public-private partnership between the District of Columbia, EastBanc, the JBG Companies, Clark Enterprises, Dantes Partners, The Warrenton Group and L.S. Caldwell & Associates. The project has received enthusiastic support from the DCPL, DCFEMS, ANC 2A, U.S. Commission of Fine Arts and the West End/Foggy Bottom communities as a whole.
