Announced in September last year,
Thally, a bistro from partners chef Ron Tanaka and Sherman Golden in Shaw, has begun construction. Tom Sietsema had broken the news that New Heights chef Ron Tanaka was leaving the Woodley Park restaurant to pursue his own project, in partnership with Maple barman Sherman Golden. The project, a bistro at 1316 9th Street NW, named Thally, is located between Seasonal Pantry and the Vita Lounge/PH9 club.
The neighborhood has waited since the announcement for word or activity that would confirm the new restaurant, described in the permit as “New Restaurant. A modern, energetic bistro serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Background music will be provided. Sidewalk Cafe with 10 seats. Occupancy Load of 99.”
