1230 9th Street NW Goes Back on the Market

At 1230 9th Street NW, is fraught with financila woes. First, Nima's Restaurant and Bar was to be built (in 2007) then came the development of Fino, Italian Restaurant of Georgetown fame, and later the planned Continental, a restaurant featuring French and Italian cuisine and live music, all have now failed to get off the ground.
The sign's are posted on 1230 9th Street NW "Restaurant Space for Lease"
Construction of these projects started and finally halted, leaving a great Shaw building as a partially completed restaurant. The property is now back on the market, so 'fingers-crossed' someone will snap up this wonderfully placed space and the residents of Shaw will finally see some real activity.

More to come on this...........

  2. After doing some research it seems to me that each of these supposed restaurant tenants are not legitimate. Nima was a corp created and dissolved by the owner of the building. Fino never made a step towards even securing a building permit and was in financial trouble anyway when the left their GTown location. Continental I have no idea of. No permits have been pulled on this prop for years, see the ones in the windows as the most recent. To me he is doing a song and dance to avoid the vacant property tax and doing a disservice to the neighbors. Of course times they are a changin' on 9th and this time may be the real deal.

  4. These guys are putting these ridiculously high rents on these commercial properties that will keep them vacant forever. They want $24k a month for this place. It isn't big enough to make that kind of money. Sorry to see this building waste away due to a greedy landlord..
