Washington, D.C. – The prominent hotel at Chevy Chase Pavilion is one step closer to completion with its expansive property makeover. The Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, announced today that an assortment of 32 deluxe suites is nearly complete and will open for availability on Monday, August 25.
Designed by HVS Design and Jonathan Nehmer & Associates of Rockville, MD, the newly introduced renovation of the stylish two-room suites create an upscale “at-home” residential feel through the use of calm lighting, natural texture and a soothing color scheme incorporating the use of organic earth tones. Newly introduced are dark chocolate wood exterior doors, modern furnishings with subtle Washington-themed décor interspersed throughout the living spaces and solid pecan hardwood flooring, which makes the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion the first full-service branded property of any major hotel chain nationwide to offer wall-to-wall solid wood flooring.
Upon entry, guests are welcomed to a substantial living area that exhibits a warm relaxed environment featuring an espresso textured sleeper sofa, a two-tone ottoman of soft leather and tufted upholstery, a traditional burnt orange armchair and a dining area with a rotating office chair that is easily transformed to a workspace. Olive curtain sheers with copper trim and a grey-cream lined Moroccan area rug round out the living space.
In the far corner, a kitchenette with cherry wood cabinetry and black granite counter-tops feature modern amenities that include a state-of-the-art refrigerator and microwave.
The master bedroom displays an executive feel with a modern flare. The room is a composition of contrasting tranquil palettes and course textures with wallpaper of linear designs, copper curtain sheers and an oak-trim drapery sconce. An efficiently full-size mahogany wardrobe, seating area with a bench and a dresser that holds a 37” Phillips HD television are positioned facing the bed. The bedding area sports a multi-toned headboard with a comfortable leather headrest complementing the room’s serene design aesthetic.
The bathroom showcases sliding barn doors that virtually doubles the space and features a mahogany vanity, full-length sliding shower glass doors and floor-to-ceiling honed cream-colored stone tiles.
The entire guest suite is punctuated with Washington-themed artwork and accessories of recognizable DC landmarks that include the District Flag, National WWII Memorial, District Map, a colonial interpretation with a patriotic foxhound portrait and the U.S. Capitol dome peering through the Conservatory glass of the U.S. Botanic Garden. These decorative artifacts are exclusive to this hotel property and reflect a cozy yet sophisticated experience.
In July, construction began for a colossal four-month $10.5 million comprehensive hotel property transformation that includes a structural conversion throughout the 170,000-square-foot, 198 two-room suite property offering an entirely new guest stay experience. The full property renovation is slated for delivery on October 20, 2014. In addition to the upgraded suites, plans call for a newly designed open entrance, sweeping lobby, expanded restaurant and lounge, new bar concept, renewed health club and enlarged public areas.
The Embassy Suites, along with the Chevy Chase Pavilion, originally opened in 1990 and has been consistently maintained with the last significant room renovation occurring in 2009 and the meeting space in 2012. The Chevy Chase Pavilion mixed-use office, retail and hotel complex is owned by Clarion Partners, LLC. Destination Hotels & Resorts has managed the Embassy Suites since November 1998.
