Nuit Blanche 2014 - Art All Night and All Over the City

September means Nuit Blanche, a free overnight arts festival featuring live performances and art installations, will fill the streets of Shaw, and this year, what started in Shaw in 2011 has expanded to four additional neighborhoods across the city: Congress Heights, Dupont Circle, North Capitol and H Street NE. So sleep all day Saturday (27th) and get ready for a busy and fun evening.
Nuit Blanche, "Art All Night was founded in 2011 by Ariana Austin who is this year's event coordinator. The festival was presented by Shaw Main Streets. This year, through the efforts of DCCAH the festival will include the Dupont Circle, Shaw, North Capitol, H Street NE and Congress Heights Main Streets. Each neighborhood will host their own unique mix of artistic programming for audiences to enjoy free of charge.  DCCAH hopes to build on the success of previous events that attracted audiences of up to 15,000 people in one night."

"Shaw will have the largest number of venues, artists, and performances. One entire floor of the former Wonder Bread Factory on S Street will be filled with art and music once again, while Events DC’s Carnegie Library on Mount Vernon Square will be included for the first time, presenting live music and a Silent Disco. Nearly two dozen other indoor and outdoor venues in the neighborhood will also host art exhibitions and performances." according to Shaw Main Streets.
To avoid any confusion I have taken the following from Shaw Main Streets web site - you should definitely visit the site for up-to date information.

OTHER CITY VENUES AND PROGRAMS

DUPONT CIRCLE,  CONGRESS HEIGHTS, H STREET NE,
All these venues have extensive programs. The details are HERE
Hopefully these locations will not be offended by my not listing them specifically. In truth I had no idea that the rest of the city had so many things going on and its just to much for me to list it all here.
Nuit Blanche DC has a good Facebook Page, and an even better Website
You can find Maps, Transportation (Circulator are providing shuttles between city events) Programs and artist bio's

Special Thanks to Shaw Main Streets, North Capitol Main Street and DCCAH for some of the words.
