SHAW: Unconventional Diner at 1209 9th - Work Begins

PLYWOOD REPORT: As part of the slew of new business' announced by Events DC for The Washington Convention Center, The Unconventional Diner, at 1209 9th Street NW, has begun construction (demolition actually) The web site states a 2016 opening - I actually believe them.

According to the press releases earlier this year, The Unconventional Diner is "a locally owned and operated high-end diner concept and brainchild of multiple DC residents/business owners." A little more research finds that Mintwood Place co-owner John Cidre and Hu’s Shoes and Hu’s Wear owner Eric Eden are at least 2 of the business owners
