Jeremiah Langhorne to Open New Restaurant in Blagden Alley
A little over a year ago, the Badwolfdc blog wrote an article about Charleston SC chef Jeremiah Langhorne, leaving popular spot McCrady's and coming to DC & Shaw to find a location for his first restaurant. Today The Washington Post's Tim Carman put out an article that the search is over, and that Jeremiah and his business partner Alex Zinc have decided on Blagden Alley in Shaw as the site of their project.
The new restaurant will be located in the rear of "the Gang of Three" the Douglas Development project that faces 9th Street NW. (something Badwolfdc has written extensively about)
According to Tim Carman, the new restaurant will be called The Dabney and will cover 2800 sq ft of the alley facing rear. Design work has begun, and Jeremiah has given some indications as to the vision he and Mr. Zinc have..
The new restaurant will join Rogue 24, La Colombe Coffee and the new/planned business's Lost and Found and Xavier Cervera's The American. It is also adjacent to Xtend Barre, and the Longview Gallery.
Expectation is for a Spring 2015 opening....
Welcome to the Alley Jeremiah and Alex.

About that "garage" - to use the correct term, the Stable will be replaced using the original brick, salvaged after the accidental collapse of the original."....will be built around a giant wood-burning hearth, the heart of the restaurant."
Still a shell...the new restaurant will face Blagden Alley at the rear of The Gang of Three
"will also be a semi-enclosed courtyard, with an open roof, where customers will dine among the plants and herbs that Langhorne plans to cultivate in the 300-square-foot space outfitted with lattices and a trellis system." ...
"The ground floor will be divided into a bar, a main dining room and another semi-private dining area built where a garage once sat in Blagden Alley." ----Washington Post
