First Look: Lost & Found a New Neighborhood Bar in Shaw

Lost & Found, the new bar in Shaw, is getting very close to opening. So I thought that a visit was in order. This was my first visit, and really first impressions. This is a very cool space, and I believe that it will be very popular especially with local residents. The first thing that struck me, was just how big of a space it is. From the outside on 9th Street NW it looks like a small, tight space between Longview Gallery and the new(as yet unfinished) The Colonel apartments at 9th and N Street's NW. But when you enter,  the split level, and deep interior provides a wow moment.
The bar is actually 2 bars, the main bar at the front, 9th Street, and a second bar at the Blagden Alley end. The pub's name comes from things old, found and recycled from around the city, signs, pictures, odd objects and of course the collection of License Plates from all over the USA. Although not all the 'found' objects had been hung yet, you can really see it coming together, and for me, anticipate the final product.
Brian Leonard, one of the owners, and who will be managing the tavern, told me some of the details of what Lost & Found will be offering. First, the bar will seat 99 combined in the 2 bars.

Brian tells me that "they will be serving all craft beers, with a focus on local breweries" there will be a small offering of wine and some cocktails. Food will be supplied by Mount Vernon Triangles,  "The Carving Room" (a local eatery - 4th & Mass Ave NW) and a menu will be available for cold sandwiches, cheeses and hummus plates.

Expectations are that Lost & Found will open before the end of the month. Brian tells me there will be a soft opening, so check back here for information on the opening......
Lost and Found is located at;
1240 9th St. NW. Washington DC
