Join panelists Diana N'Diaye, Monte Harris, Karen E. Milbourne, and Gina
Paige for an engaging and thoughtful conversation about contemporary
hair, health, and beauty in relation to the heritage and history of
Africa.
The event is at the S. Dillon Ripley Center Lecture hall, on sub-level 3 (1100 Jefferson Drive, SW). It begins at 6.30pm and goes through till 9pm - there is a reception with Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 8pm in the Pavilion, in The National Museum of African Arts.Its FREE, but you need tickets...go to: http://healthhairheritage.evenbrite.com

Diana N’Diaye, Ph.D. (moderator), is the curator of Will to Adorn, one of the themes of the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival; she also designs hair adornments.
Monte O. Harris, M.D., is an internationally recognized plastic surgeon who lectures on the role of hair in perceptions of beauty and identity.
Karen E. Milbourne, Ph.D., is a curator at the National Museum of African Art.
Gina M. Paige, is president and co-founder of Africanancestry.com
