When you visit the new Giant Food at City Market at O, you will find that the new section of 8th Street NW is now open. The block features wide, pedestrian friendly sidewalks, trees and shrubs. The curbstones are specially rounded, to avoid tire tear on the 2-way road. Anchored at the P Street end with the Lobby's for the East & West residential buildings, and on O Street, by Giant Food and the Cambria Suites Hotel.
The stores are not ready to open yet, but, opposite Giant Food you can see the location of the new Dolci Gelati, and if you look closely, the warning "don't lick the window".
