DC Nonprofit to Honor Debbi & Ernie Jarvis at Annual Gala
Media Personality Paul Wharton to Emcee Evening’s Festivities
Fair Chance is in preparations for its highly anticipated Butterfly Bash fundraising celebration this October. The nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of children in DC’s most underserved communities will host its annual Fair Chance Butterfly Bash on Friday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. This year’s event will honor Debbi & Ernie Jarvis for their commitment to community initiatives and dedication to youth-serving nonprofits in the Washington, DC area. Media personality Paul Wharton, host of Fox 5’s Good Day DC, has been tapped as this year’s event emcee.
"Fair Chance is an engine for social change. We strengthen the sustainability and performance of community-based nonprofits to achieve life-changing results for children and youth living in poverty," says Executive Director, Gretchen Van der Veer, PhD. "Since 2002, we have worked with more than 100 DC nonprofits serving a collective 80,000 children and youth. Within five years of working with Fair Chance, our partner nonprofits realize a 62 percent median increase in number of children served and a 101 percent median increase in revenue. Fair Chance is a cost-effective way to multiply positive results for children and youth in our city’s most underserved neighborhoods.”
The Fair Chance Butterfly Bash will welcome more than 700 guests and 50 corporate sponsors for an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music and dancing.
