WASHINGTON DC: Central Union Mission Receives New Mattresses Donated by Leesa Sleep

On October 11th, Leesa Sleep, an online luxury mattress company, will donate a total of 268 new mattresses to the Central Union Mission and A Safe Haven Outreach Ministries through its industry-leading social impact program. The donation is made in honor of World Homeless Day and will be presented at the Central Union Mission in Washington at 1PM. ET.
The mattress donation, with a retail value of over $60,000 will benefit the Mission’s various efforts including their emergency shelter program, Spiritual Transformation Program and Ready2Succeed students, Camp Bennett retreat for underprivileged children, and transitional and low-cost housing. It will also benefit A Safe Haven Outreach Ministries’ rehabilitation housing services.
"We're grateful for the partnership with Leesa,” said Minister Deborah Chambers, director of strategic partnerships and community outreach. “Every day we work with people who are struggling, living on the streets, beaten up by life, grappling with physical challenges or addictions and more. To be able to offer them the comfort of a clean, comfortable bed for a decent night’s sleep is one more step toward restoring hope for the future."
The Central Union Mission is a faith-based non-profit organization with six locations throughout the Washington metropolitan area, aiding the 12,000+ men, women and children who are hungry, hurting and homeless. Also a non-profit, A Safe Haven Outreach Ministries offers housing and human services for uninsured, low-income, or homeless adults struggling with substance abuse, HIV and mental health challenges.

Based in Virginia Beach, Va., Leesa Sleep is an online luxury mattress company with a social impact program at the heart and soul of its business. The Leesa One-Ten program gives one mattress for every ten sold to organizations across the nation and has donated more than 7,000 mattresses to date.
