Pastry chef and RareSweets owner, Meredith Tomason, will offer a variety of First Lady inspired sweets this 4th of July from lemon bars to fudge to angel food cake to chocolate chip cookies. See below for the line-up, along with a special 4th of July "BBQ Dessert Essentials Kit", perfect for barbecues and cook-outs this Independence Day.

RareSweets will be closed on July 4th, but the below offerings will be available between June 29 and July 3rd.

Lady Bird Johnson's Lemon Bars $2.50. Lady Bird Johnson was known to serve a lemon bar recipe popular in her native Texas. This RareSweets version has the prefect balance of tart and sweet.

Mamie Eisenhower's Chocolate Fudge $6 per pack. Inspired by the first lady's "Million Dollar Fudge" recipe, Tomason's version adds a bittersweet twist to a popular classic.

Eleanor Roosevelt's Angel Food Cake $5 per slice or $40 for a whole cake with mixed berry compote. Inspired by the book "Amelia and Eleanor go for a ride," this light and airy summery dessert is a perfect fit for Independence Day. Eleanor Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart were good friends who shared a love for flying, and were known to have flown together in April of 1933, from Washington DC to Baltimore. The book ends with a recipe for angel food cake, a nod to the clouds they flew threw together.

Hillary Clinton's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies $2 The former first lady was known for her award-winning chocolate chip cookies, which were pitted against those of another former first lady, Laura Bush. She often baked these with daughter, Chelsea, and the recipe was an inspiration for this Independence Day

4th of July BBQ Dessert Essentials Kit: Includes 6 Lemon Bars, 6 Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, 1 8-inch Blueberry Nutmeg Cake: $65.
