Gang of Three Construction Phase One Begins
Updated 8/12/2013: Photographs (bottom of post)
As the Douglas Development "Gang of Three" project has now reached its construction phase, I decided that I would begin a new (and ongoing) post to follow the progress.
As previously reported here**, the "Gang of Three", which is located at 1216 - 1226 9th Street NW, is being renovated and re-purposed, eventually becoming office space and a restaurant. The remedial work is completed and the physical clearing and demolition is beginning. Sigal, the construction company, has their team on site and working, primarily at the rear of the property. Its unlikely that there will be much 'visible' construction on the 9th Street side, for quite a while. This is all part of Phase One, which if it remains on schedule, is projected to continue until December. The project completion target is March 2014.
Update 8/12/2013
I will be following the construction and updating on this post, through project completion....so come back often and see what progress has been made.
**The complete construction plan, renderings etc. are all available here

For perspective - rear of the "Gang of Three" a few months back |
Construction crew has already removed old fencing, brush and wooden structures from the rear of the property |
Equipment is arriving at the site, now the rear has been cleared. |
looking more like Kabul than Shaw |
No time wasted - aggressive timetable for the renovation |
