9th Street NW' Other Gang of Three - Thally, Baby Wale and Mandalay
Douglas Development famously called its project at 1216 -1226 9th Street NW "Gang of Three" a name that has stuck and that Shaw residence now anticipate as a renovated property (including a new restaurant).
While this is in progress, with an March/April 2014 completion date, we have acquired another gang of three. Three new restaurants. Over the next 3 weeks, all are announced or expected to open. Exciting times on 9th Street NW.
Thally
Announced on the 21st August,Thally will be opening its doors on Tuesday August 27th
Chef & Co-Owner Ron Tanaka and General Manager & Co-Owner Sherman Outhuok
Modern American Cuisine created by Ron Tanaka, along with a rotating list of wines and craft beers, custom cocktails, house-made sodas, and unique spirits in a 70 seat restaurant which includes a 14 seat bar.

A casual counterpart to Corduroy, located next door, sports what may be the longest bar in DC. The restaurant's bar will have 50 seats, and customers can sample lobster rolls, pupusas and roast chicken at the eatery, which is meant to have a relaxed, pub-like feel.

Mandalay Restaurant and Café brings dishes from Burma (Myanmar), but is not specializing in the cuisine of any particular region
of Burma, instead, plans to bring a mix of dishes from the seasides
to the mountains, using fresh ingredients and time tested recipes.
