WASHINGTON DC: Pizzeria Paradiso December Events

Pizzeria Paradiso will celebrate the holiday season with their annual “Give a Can, Get a Can” fundraising drive, a "Gingerbread People and Pizza Decorating Party" in Old Town with Christmas themed beers, and their annual spent grain crust promotion with DC Brau, which combats food waste and helps curb hunger in the District. Give a Can Get a Can - December 6th at Dupont PP, December 13th at Hyattsville PP

Every year, Pizzeria Paradiso locations host Give a Can Get A Can, a fundraising drive where patrons bring a can of food and receive a free can of beer in return. This year patrons will have the opportunity to exchange a can of food for a can of Graft Cider, Stone Vengeful Spirit, Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, Flying Dog Bloodline, and Atlas Ponzi amongst many others. All cans of food will be donated to Martha’s Table, a charity which focuses on education, food access, and community support programs for children. Give A Can Get A Can will be hosted on December 6th at the Dupont Circle location and on December 13th at the Hyattsville location.

Gingerbread People & Pizza Decorating Party! - December 17th, Old Town

Pizzeria Paradiso is celebrating the holiday season with complimentary gingerbread for decorating with every purchase on December 17th at Pizzeria Paradiso in Old Town. Kids can decorate gingerbread people and pizzas while adults try Hardywood Gingerbread Stout, St. Bernardus Christmas Ale, Eggenberg Samichlaus, The Bruery 10 Lords-a-Leaping and several other Christmas-themed drafts. On December 16th Pizzeria Paradiso will pour Christmas themed beers at the Hyattsville location to compliment the gingerbread house making event next-door at ArtWorks Now.

Spent Grain November 24th through December 24th all locations

Every year around the holidays, Pizzeria Paradiso does their part to combat food waste and support those in need by using DC Brau’s spent grain (the leftover malt after the beer brewing process) to create a special pizza crust and loaves of bread to donate to Bread for the City. This will be the 7th year in a row of this partnership and donation program. To kick off a month of spent grain crust, Pizzeria Paradiso and DC Brau donated 150+ loaves of bread baked by Pizzeria Paradiso’s chef/owner, Ruth Gresser, to Bread for the City, and proceeds from the sale of the pizzas will go directly to Bread for the City. The spent grain promotion started on Friday, November 24 and will be available through December 24 at all four Pizzeria Paradiso locations. The 9” spent grain pizza crusts will be available for $2 and the 12” crusts for $3.
