Over the past 2 years much has been discussed and written about "The Stables at Naylor Court" a project from OPaL of Cabin John Md. The good news is that the construction has started in earnest. The ambitious project that will build 3 town homes in Naylor Court who's exterior recreates the look of the stables of old, while providing a small gated community.
The construction which began a few weeks back - the below ground construction had been completed earlier, as had the soil testing - has seen the basement structure installed and cement poured on the front portion of the project.
Using the latest building products the main buildings look to rise very quickly, and the estimate of an end of year completion seem reasonable.
The town houses are already on the market, OPaL web site has Lot 1 reserved and Lots 2 & 3 at a price that is north of $1.5 million each. OPaL have released pictures of how the interior will look, based on similar completed projects.

Unique is the keyword for these new own homes, and I am looking forward to following the construction process. Below are the published artist renderings of the final buildings;

Update: Work has now begun on the 3 small carriage houses at the rear of the main houses.
Update 5/28
Its just 2 weeks since the last update, things are really moving along. The slabs are laid down on the rear carriage houses (no photo), the floors installed on the main buildings (last week) and the build up and framing of the 3 main houses (this week)
Adding the ground floor (last week)

Front View - matches other alley buildings

You can clearly see the design and sensitivity to the surrounding buildings. The speed that OPaL are working at seems to match their end-of-year completion date. The OPaL website still show the properties are available.

Update 6/5/2013
As you can tell by the pace of the updates, OPaL, have not been sitting on their hands. The Stables at Naylor Court are well on the way to completion. The main buildings are framed, and are now wrapped. Window and door placements are complete, and the majority of the interior framing is complete. Work has now begun on the small carriage houses in the rear, and as you can see from the photo's they to are rising fast. I spoke briefly with the Peter Nelson, Senior VP of Construction at OPaL, who seemed very pleased with the progress being made, and that the vision of 'reproducing' the look and feel of the Naylor Court stables of old  has been realized. Still no firm date for completion, but I would guess that by summers end, these will be sold and inhabited by their lucky homeowners.
The framing done, the structures now get their wrap. The white building (right) is an original building, reproducing the style was the wish of OPaL, and they are right on the money
First level of the small carriage house on the alley is already in place
Matching the renderings (above) the carriage houses are rising quickly
