So its been a few weeks since the last update, and things are moving along well, the permits are in place (thanks DC) and work is progressing. Today the signage is being installed (painted) and the interior glass wall for the vestibule (more on that later). La Colombe has brought in Sign Painter and Artist Gibbs Connors to complete the exterior, and judging by the renditions it will be a perfect fit for the Alley.
So here is a gallery of photographs that will bring you up to date;

Signage is now complete - nice job guys |
Artist Gibbs Connors, who has hand painted signs all over the US, is confident that the new signs will be completed today (early tomorrow at the latest) and he is confident that we will all like them.
Now the other news. To create a more open feel and to provide some 'outdoor' seating, Gregg Smith the manager, has had a vestibule designed into the structure that will allow for (the feel) of year round outdoor sipping. The outer/front 'garage like' glass door will be opened daily opening the vestibule and access into the cafe'. Today they are installing the glass (the framing was done a few weeks back) and you can really get a sense of how all this is going to work.

and of course, being in an alley means 'graffiti' this one appeared this week |
Now the news that everyone is waiting for is when does La Colombe open? Well according to Greg Smith, "we are hoping to be ready by mid-January, certainly by the end of January"
I can't wait!
