With 'The Gang of Three' nearing completion, Douglas Development has started the process's through the DC agencies on a new project, for the vacant property, 920 N Street (rear), just across the alleyway from the much delayed restoration.
The neighborhood CDC and HPRB has approved the project already, but you can expect some neighborhood residents to oppose the project. The South-East corner of Blagden Alley has become a center for transformation with two major construction activities, the Douglas' Gang of Three and SB-Urban' two building micro-apartment project. The pair will certainly create change in the historic Alley and the trade-offs (history v progress) will be hotly debated locally.
Douglas Development also owns the adjacent properties, La Colombe & Rogue 24.
Here are the renderings for the 920 N Street site;

It remains to be seen if local opposition will stall the transformation, of what will undoubtedly become a 'go-to' location in Shaw and DC.
