EVENT: Women Who Code DC One Year Celebration: Free Event April 8th

On April 8th Women Who Code are celebrating their first year in DC. Women Who Code are over 1000 members strong in the DC area and are one of the most active groups on the east coast.
The DC Chapter will meet at the OpenGov Hub located at 1110 Vermont Avenue NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC. starting at 6:15 PM until . Joining the celebration will be Michelle Lee to celebrate an incredible year for DC Tech and women in the industry. Michelle is Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent & Trademarks Office and one of the most incredible women in the industry.

6:15-6:30 PM: enter and seating, the first 100 will get shirts!

6:30-7:00 PM: opening with Michelle Lee, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent & Trademarks Office

7:00-7:15 PM: introduction to Women Who Code, what we are about, and what we do for those that are new

7:15-7:45 PM: Women Who Code DC success stories, what events we have coming up, and ways to get involved

7:45-8:30 PM: Meet with the leaders of Women Who Code DC in provided spaces to learn about the events that most interest you
The first 100 attendees will receive Women Who Code t-shirts (make sure to be on time!), and food will be provided thanks to Capital One.

Women Who Code (WWCode) is a global nonprofit organization which inspires women to excel in careers in technology. We believe that innovation is driven by diversity and that the tech industry will be even better once women are no longer underrepresented. Women Who Code was founded in 2011 and has since grown to exceed 12,000 members spanning 14 countries. The organization is best known for its technical study groups, hack nights, career development, and speaking events featuring influential technology industry experts and investors. Since inception, WWCode has produced more than 700 events worldwide and garnered sponsorship from organizations like KPCB, Square, Etsy, Heroku, Yelp, and many others.
