U STREET: Lupo Verde Honors International Women’s Day With Dinner Specials on Tuesday, March 8th
Italian hot spot Lupo Verde is honoring International Women’s Day with a special dish on Tuesday, March 8th. Prepared by Corporate Chef Domenico Apollaro, the Risotto Mimosa with Acquerello risotto, saffron, shrimp, mango, Vincotto and pistachios ($32) will be available for one night only in addition to the restaurant’s seasonal a la carte menu, which showcases authentic, rustic, Italian fare featuring a variety of small plates, house-made charcuteries, breads, fine Italian cheeses and antipasti. As an added bonus, all female guests who dine at the restaurant on Tuesday, March 8th will receive a complimentary mimosa cocktail during dinner service.
International Women’s Day ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political and social achievements. Started as a socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many counties, primarily Eastern Europe and Russia. In Italy, the day lost its political flavor and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way similar to a mixture of Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. It’s customary for men to give women a yellow mimosa flower on March 8th.
Its all happening on Tuesday, March 8th from 5 PM to 11 PM.
For additional information or reservations call (202) 827-4752.
Lupo Verde is located at 1401 T Street, NW, just three blocks from the U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Metro accessible on the yellow and green lines.
