ALEXANDRIA: Burtons Grill & Bar Announces Their Community Support “Good Neighbors” Outreach & Military Mondays

Founder, President and CEO Kevin Harron is pleased to announce that Alexandria, Virginia newcomer, Burtons Grill & Bar, is collaborating with the Fort Belvoir Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC), as their first community partner in Virginia to launch the restaurant’s Good Neighbors outreach. The featured nonprofit will change quarterly, affording Burtons Grill & Bar the opportunity to work with four separate groups annually throughout the Virginia area. Additionally, the Alexandria-based Burtons Bar & Grill will host Military Mondays, beginning March 7^th, 2016. This special Monday offer is for active duty military personnel to partake in the upscale-casual restaurant’s contemporary American cuisine and enjoy a 20% discount on all food and non-alcoholic beverages during lunch and dinner service.

For the launch of Good Neighbors, The Fort Belvoir Soldier and Family Assistance Center(SFAC) is the first nonprofit to be tapped as it provides customized, integrated support services dedicated to serving soldiers in transition and their families. The Fort Belvoir Soldier and Family Assistance Center(SFAC) http://belvoir.armymwr.com/us/belvoir/programs/soldier-and-family-assistance-center is a one-stop location to equip and aid soldiers in making life changing decisions as they transition either back to duty, or to civilian life. Its programs will benefit from the sales of designated food and drink offerings at Burtons Grill & Bar. The restaurant will also host select events for (SFAC) to help support their mission.

 

Restaurant-goers can participate to help contribute to the fundraising efforts by purchasing a Hero’s Cosmo, Tito’s vodka, Cointreau, fresh squeezed lime juice, cranberry juice, Hero’s Mule, Tito’s vodka, lime juice, ginger beer, both offered at $10 or Kimchi Latkes, pulled pork, radish, yellow curry and sriracha lime cream for $9; Burtons Grill & Bar will donate $1 per each of these items sold to (SFAC), between March 7^th and June 7^th, 2016. Featured items are available at both lunch and dinner.

Harron wanted to ensure that Burtons Restaurant Group’s tradition of supporting every community in which they operate a restaurant, through the sales of “Charitini’s”, would be an important component at the new Alexandria location. Learning about the profound impact The Fort Belvoir Soldier and Family Assistance Center(SFAC) programs have in helping soldiers in transition to and from the battlefield, while also assisting their caregivers, by providing them with educational, financial, social and emotional support services, made them an excellent choice for the launch of Good Neighbors.

“It is an honor to contribute to the efforts of providing critical support to those who have served in the military to honor and protect our country,” states Kevin Harron. “We are pleased to help spread the word about the vital services SFAC provides to these soldiers and their families.”

Burtons Grill & Bar will have a 200 total seating capacity including 168 dining room seats and 32 seats at the bar.  An outdoor patio complete with fire table will also be available during the spring and summer months (weather permitting) and can accommodate an additional 50 guests.   Neimitz Design Group is responsible for designing the 6,200-square-foot space, which will serve lunch and dinner.

Committed to using only the freshest ingredients showcasing creative cooking techniques, Burtons Grill & Bar is also a leader in allergy awareness as the restaurant continues to develop menus that provide exceptional dining experiences for all guests. The restaurant will showcase vegetarian & gluten sensitive menus, and its {B} Choosy kids menu uses the USDA’s newest guidelines for nutrition.  This affords parents the opportunity to choose from a list of ingredients and cooking methods when preparing their child’s menu.

Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
