BOLT BURGERS is OPEN FOR BUSINESS. 
The sign is up and a quick telephone call confirms that Bolt Burgers is open for business at 1010 Mass. Ave NW.  The latest information that I was given is that the hours are 11am to 11pm - 7 days a week......Bolt Burgers emphasizes the use of technology, with a touch-screen ordering system and other additions. So head on over and check it out. Go to their web-site and check out the unique menu......

Oh so close.....most furniture is in place, there is a bit of finishing to do and the exterior signage and clean-up is in progress...look for an opening really soon (stay tuned here)

If you have been by 1010 Mass Ave NW lately you can see that the builders have been working overtime to get Bolt Burgers ready for their fall opening, and its looking good!! Bolt Burgers have now released their renderings, and looking at the layout and concept, its definitely time to get excited

I have spoken to the representative of Bolt Burgers (they are obviously as excited as we are about the coming "concept") So here's the news. No we do not have to wait long for this to happen! Expectations, and they seem strong, are that Bolt Burgers will open in early fall. So get ready for something new in town:

• Spice rubs, such as Toasted Peppercorn & Herb, and Fiery Chili, Cumin & Paprika
• Artisanal Cheeses, such as Local Virginia Goat Cheese, Truffle Pecorino and Smoked Gouda
• Exclusive Sauces, such as Tomato and Sweet Basil, and Habanero, Cilantro & Lime Mayo
• Homemade relishes, such as Black Bean, Corn & Onion, and Crunchy Asian Slaw

As reported here and in the Washington Business Journal, Bolt Burgers have their building permit in place for 1010 Mass Avenue NW. If you know 1010' s available retail space, its large. Subway opened earlier this year on 11th Street NW, but mid-block, so there is a lot of space vacant. The reports concerning Bolt Burgers did not specify their location in the building. So here is the news. The Bolt Burgers will face Mass Avenue and take the prime corner space with 11th Street NW.

There is activity, delivery has been made of air/hood ducting, so I expect that actual (internal) construction will start soon.

Bolt Burgers does have a web site setup that includes the menu, looks tasty! The menu also includes Beer and Wine, so there will be a Liquor License Application, which is not posted yet.  I have reached out to Bolt Burgers and their representatives for more information, so stand by.

Update 8/10/2013

Lots of activity at 1010,  build-out seems to be going well (I don't have an opening date yet, but standby). 

Permits are now posted, for Liquor License and for exterior seating. Also, if you are passing check out the menu posted on the doors; So here are the numbers;

• Total Occupancy; 137
• Inside Seating; 79
• Sidewalk Seating; 48

Sunday - Thursday  7am - 2am
Friday - Saturday 7am - 3am

Update 9/5/2013

Bolt Burgers is hiring, yes! and that's good (See Employment Opportunities Below) - opening will not be that far away now. I dropped by today, quite a bit of progress, and you can now compare the renderings with the work completed - the opening can't come soon enough....

The kitchen is already being installed - whoot! The slate-grey wall is sweet

Duties to include working the grill, assembling burger orders, salad and side orders and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Preparation and Utility

Duties to include prepping daily food items for lunch and dinner service, helping kitchen team and maintaining a clean and organized back of the house.

Greeter

Seeking fantastic customer service provider! Making sure all guests of Bolt are welcomed, educated on the Table and ordering process, overseeing seating flow and able to manage table seating and kiosk ordering.

Food Runner

Duties to include running food orders to dine in and carry out orders and maintaining a clean and organized dining room, beverage station, etc.

Register person

Duties to include taking guest orders, payments, making smoothies, handling phone orders and maintaining a clean and organized front of the house. Must have great smiles and happy attitudes .
