Vinoteca Owner Paul Carlson to Open "The Royal" on Florida Avenue NW

Paul Carson to hold Open House at 501 Florida Ave NW. January 29th 2pm - 4pm. (see full listserve notification at bottom of post)

Native Washingtonian Paul Carlson, owner of Vinoteca (off 14th & U St), is set to open another neighborhood centric tavern on the corner of 501 Florida Avenue, Northwest, it will be called The Royal after its former tenant, Royal Liquor.
501 Florida Ave NW to become new neighborhood tavern "The Royal"
The ABRA  Application show that The Royal will be;
Small neighborhood tavern targeting area residents within walking distance. Provide a beverage program of craft cocktails and beers as well as a wine program.
Food menu will consist of simple/comfort food with good everyday meal options. In the future, we will open during the day to provide the neighborhood with a lunch food menu and coffee program.
(There are no seating numbers on the application, but word has it that it will be around 40)
Quite a big venture to get the building ready
Hours of Operation:
Sunday Thru Thurs   7am - 2 am
Friday and Saturday 7am - 3am

Sidewalk Cafe
Sunday thru Thursday 7am  - 11pm
Friday and Saturday   7am  - 12am

No dates yet, as usual at the mercy of pending permits and then the build-out.

As you may have heard, changes will be coming soon to the space located at 501 Florida Ave., NW. We recently signed a lease for the space and in a few months we hope to open The Royal, a new neighborhood tavern.

We believe in the importance of establishing a positive relationship with our community/neighbors and are having an open house to meet the members of the community and to answer any questions you may have about The Royal.
