Washington, DC – Team up with VIDA Fitness this April to bring awareness, raise funds and help find a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. VIDA Fitness members and nonmembers can participate in two fitness-inspired events to benefit Augie’s Quest: a six-week Boot Camp program at any VIDA location or a Rooftop Cycle Class on the Sun Deck of VIDA U Street. VIDA will donate 100 percent of proceeds to Augie’s Quest, a nonprofit research initiative dedicated to finding treatments and cures for ALS. The six-week Boot Camp begins on April 21 and continues through the month of May with a variety of session options. The 75-minute outdoor Rooftop Cycle Class will take place on Saturday, April 26 with two classes offered in either late morning or early afternoon.
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The life expectancy of ALS patients averages about two to five years from the time of diagnosis and, as of now, has no cure.
VIDA Fitness members and nonmembers are welcome to enroll in either special charity workout with a suggested donation. To sign up for either the Rooftop Cycling or Outdoor Boot Camp, email Alexx Zamudio at azamudio@vidafitness.com.
General donations are also being accepted for those who would like to provide support, but are unable to attend either event. To make a general donation, please email Aaron Moore, director of operations, at aaron@vidafitness.com.
