Eye Street Cellars is now OPEN.
Anchoring Eye Street NW 500 block, Alba Osteria at the other (4th Street) end, the liquor store, spacious and bright, had its soft opening today. The place looks so good. I love the color scheme, the space and layout. Speaking with Savita and Pankaj, the plans are very neighborhood based.
Enter, and you will find.....well laid out, bright and spacious
To kick-off the opening there will be a tasting on Wednesday evening, April 30th (please drop by and check with the store for the exact time). Pankaj told me that they plan regular tasting's on Friday and Saturday's , and hopefully they will be throwing in a barbeque or two throughout the summer.
I visited today, and although there are still a few (very few) empty shelves, everything you could want is there (be patient as stock arrives) The Beer freezer has so many brands, the hard stuff is all there and the wine list extensive.
The aisle's are wide and (goody) deep, I had no trouble locating anything
A lot of people feel a liquor store in the neighborhood is a negative, but Eye Street Cellars will appeal to so many, and their plan to integrate into the neighborhood will make them a popular place to visit to buy and to meet, and will surely become a mainstay in the Mount Vernon Triangle community.
Vino!!! and nicely presented
The Cooler, Beer, Wine, and whatever! It feels like it goes on forever
The Color Scheme makes everything else pop with color
Welcome to Mount Vernon Triangle,  Eye Street Cellars
