Quick Shots #47: Morrison-Clark Inn Expansion Gets its Crane

A few weeks ago I visited the Morrison-Clark Inn & Restaurant to check out the progress on their expansion project. At that time the sub-level (parking) was near completion, and the first floor framing was just beginning. That is now completed and the expansion is about to rise up. Experience tells me that adding the additional floor will not take that long, so the planned Fall opening is a possibility. Fortunately the crane, which is of a special type, able to reach over the Chinese Church, to 8 story's,  is 'on-site' and will not disrupt L Street NW traffic.

In other construction news; I'm told that "the interior balconies have been demolished with the exception of the structural parts. Next comes the remodel of them (the balconies) along with the remodel of the existing bay windows on the inside of the courtyard."
