SHAW: Happy Birthday, Harry Potter! at Shaw's Watha T. Daniel Library - July 29th

On July 29th at 7pm Shaw Library will present a lecture about Harry Potter! (It also coincides with his birthday, which is the 31st!)

Birthdays have a special significance in the world J.K. Rowling has created. Hagrid doesn't reveal that Harry is a wizard on just any day of the year, and every witch and wizard looks forward coming of age on their 17th birthday if for no other reason than that they are finally allowed to do magic outside school.

Join Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Library for a conversation about the significance of birthdays, especially Harry's, in the wizarding world. Birthday cake and butterbeer will be served!

ASL interpreters will be present.

Tolonda Henderson is a librarian at George Washington University. She has presented her work on the library at Hogwarts at several academic conferences and is currently researching Harry Potter and disability studies.
