WASHINGTON DC: 3 Weeks of FREE Good Humor Treats Coming To DC - Starts Tuesday, August 4

Next week, the Good Humor 'Welcome to Joyhood' tour is coming to Washington, D.C. to give out FREE Good Humor treats for three weeks! Good Humor is on a mission to bring joy to the mundane moments of everyday life and transform our nation’s capital into a capital of Joy, one neighborhood at a time.

It all kicks off next Tuesday, August 4 with an event at Moynihan Plaza (That's at The Ronald Reagan Building on Penn Ave NW) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. During the event, fans can enjoy free frozen treats as the Good Humor Joy Squad makes its debut in D.C. for the first time. Following the launch event, the Joy Squad will travel across the city for three weeks to surprise and delight local residents and visitors with free frozen treats and other fun surprises through August 25.

Knowing when and where the Joy Squad will be giving out free frozen treats each day is as simple as following @GoodHumor. And even better, fans can request Good Humor treats on demand by tweeting @GoodHumor for the chance to receive a personal delivery.
The Joy Squad is led by the Good Humor Man and consists of Spark Cars and a modernized Good Humor Truck, which has the look of a classic Good Humor Truck from yesteryear and also includes cutting edges features such as six digital TV screens, social media capabilities, and a music/PA system for playing today’s hits.

This is the first year the Good Humor tour is coming to Washington, D.C., a city that had an important role in Good Humor’s history. It all started in 1920 when Harry Burt created the first ever ice cream on a stick. Convinced that he had something big on his hands, Burt filed for a patent in 1920; however, it took three years and a personal trip to Washington, D.C. with a five-gallon pail of Good Humor bars before Burt was finally granted exclusive rights to “ice cream on a stick” and we’re back to celebrate!
