VIRGINIA: Early Mountain Vineyards Hosts Fall Oyster Festival - October 11

Early Mountain Vineyards Oyster Festival will return for a second time this year on Sunday, October 11th, offering seasonal fare from Virginia’s esteemed Rappahannock Oyster Company. Rappahannock will provide their signature raw and steamed oysters (four for $5), crab cakes ($10), Barcat oyster chowder laced with thick cut bacon ($5), and the seasonal favorite, Stuffin’ muffins made with their famous oyster stuffing ($8).

Limited non-seafood selections from Early Mountain Vineyard’s market place menu will be available and picnic lunches are also welcome in designated “picnic areas.” 

Admission includes entry to the festival, an Early Mountain wine tasting and a stemless wine glass as a take home treat. Guests can also order from Early Mountain’s extensive list of Virginia wines by the glass and bottle, including their newest release, a 2013 Reserve Chardonnay with 15% Petit Manseng to bring additional vibrancy to the wine, which was aged for 9 months sur lie in French oak. 

The jazz group Charles Owens Trio will play live music from 12pm – 4pm. 

The Oyster Festival will take place throughout the vineyard grounds. Tickets are required to all visitors that day and all ages are welcome for family-friendly fun.
