MVT: Shouk "A New Way to Define Comfort Food" to Open - May 3

A modern eatery and market located at 655 K St NW offering a new take on comfort food. Shouk, meaning “market,” an assault on all five senses will opening Tuesday, May 3. Opening times are from 11am to 10pm daily.
Ran Nussbächer The owner of Shouk is a First time restaurateur. A former VP of Sales at OPOWER, and an Avid market goer and experienced traveler. Jessica Bufford, a Richmond based restaurateur best known for critically acclaimed restaurants Toast, Hutch, Talleys, and Shoryuken, is a partner in Shouk.

The 'Market" items are all vegetable based with some wonderful takes on Middle Eastern foods, think of the Levant, Lebanon, Israel et al. there is even Arabic Coffee (that uses the recipe that the Bedouin make with Cardomen) something that is near impossible to buy in DC.

This is going to be a 'must visit' shouk.

I will visit and update this article about the 'served' food and anything else that catches my eye, but personally I am really excited about this new addition to Mount Vernon Triangle (&Square) and DC.
