VIRGINIA: Early Mountain Vineyards hosts 'Father's Field Day' - June 19

Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia will celebrate Father’s Day with a gourmet barbecue and “field day” festival with live music on Sunday, June 19. Guests will enjoy locally sourced fare from purveyor JM Stock Provisions, including chicken salad sandwiches with garlic aioli and pickled ramps and whole roast porchetta with kale and pickled onions. Additional items such as a pit pastrami sandwich with tiger sauce, roasted cauliflower and carrot salad with crunchy cucumber and fennel salad, vegetable sandwiches with chow chow, Anson Mills grits with guest’s choice of meat topping, and a variety of salad options will also be available. All food will be sold a la carte.

Newly released wines from Early Mountain Vineyards including the 2013 Eluvium, a Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc blend, will be available for purchase as well as beer from Charlottesville’s Champion Brewing Co. including their Shower Beer and Killer Kolsch.

Local bakeshop and creamery Wonderment will provide ice cream sandwiches for dessert with flavors including key lime ice cream on graham cracker cookies and an exclusive flavor for the event, maple bacon ice cream with peanut butter cookies.

Guests can enjoy the views of the Blue Ridge foothills on the terrace accompanied by live music from Bluegrass band Gallatin Canyon. Games will also be available on the lawn including corn hole and a golf simulation of the 18th hole at Oakmont by SkyTrak.

This all takes place on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Food will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Early Mountain will serve wine from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

You can purchase Early Bird tickets, available here, for $12 for members and $15 for non-members through June 12. Beginning June 13, regular tickets will be $20 per person with free entry for guests under 21. 

All tickets include entry, a glass of wine or tasting of Early Mountain wine, and 

a take-home stemless glass.
