ALEXANDRIA: Celebrate Alexandria Restaurant Week at Blackwall Hitch - Aug 19 - 28

Waterfront Blackwall Hitch, located at 5 Cameron Street, in Alexandria, will celebrate Alexandria Restaurant Week by offering guests exclusive prix fixe menus during both lunch and dinner service featuring seasonal American fare and live musical entertainment Wednesday-Saturday evenings.  Diners can look forward to a two-course lunch menu priced at $20 per person and three-course dinner menu priced at $35 per person (tax and gratuity not included).  Alexandria Restaurant Week will run from August 19th through August 28th.  This nautically-inspired landmark restaurant, complete with three outdoor patios, and an oyster bar, honors the heritage of the Chesapeake Bay with a modern interpretation of a classic shore tavern.  Live music will be performed during Restaurant Week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 9 PM, Thursday evening at 9:30 PM and on Sunday during the day beginning at 10 AM.  A list of the bands can be found at http://theblackwallhitch.com/alexandria/live-music/.

At lunch, first course options include Zucchini Frites, fresh zucchini, parmesan breaded and golden fried, served with house-made marinara, or Chef’s Seasonal Soup, seasonal favorites made with fresh local fare.  For the entrée, guests can enjoy dishes such as Crispy Calamari, fresh calamari, lightly breaded and golden fried, served with smoked paprika mayo; Caprese Flatbread with fresh Burrata cheese, tomato sauce, basil and extra virgin olive oil; Southwest Chicken Salad with blackened chicken breast, mixed field greens, avocados, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, red onion, shredded cheddar cheese, roasted corn salsa and tortilla strips, tossed with a honey-chipotle vinaigrette; The Filet Flatbread with filet mignon tips, caramelized onion, gorgonzola cheese, extra virgin olive oil and fresh Italian parsley; Santa Fe Wrap with blackened chicken breast, mixed field greens, avocados, cucumbers, carrots, red onion, roasted corn salsa, shredded cheddar cheese, tossed in our house-made honey-chipotle vinaigrette and wrapped in a warm spinach tortilla, served with our signature rosemary fries.
For dinner, guests can enjoy appetizers such as Autumn Pear Salad, baby arugula tossed with red Bartlett pears, pecorino cheese, raisins and toasted pine nuts, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette; Fried Green Tomatoes, green tomatoes breaded with panko & golden fried, garnished with roasted corn salsa and cherry pepper remoulade, and theChef’s Seasonal Soup, seasonal favorites made with fresh local fare.  For the entrée, one can choose Mahi Mahi Tacos, blackened Cajun Mahi-Mahi served in a soft taco shell with spicy slaw, avocados, roasted corn salsa and feta cheese, dressed with avocado sour cream and served with herb pearl couscous; Southwest Chicken Salad with blackened chicken breast, mixed field greens, avocados, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, red onion, shredded cheddar cheese, garnished with roasted corn salsa and tortilla strips, tossed with a honey-chipotle vinaigrette; Steak & Bleu Cheese with grilled top sirloin finished with smoked salt, peppery greens, shaved red onion, garnished with a potato crisp and bleu cheese crumbles, tossed with balsamic vinaigrette, and the Bayou Penne, a classic Creole favorite with jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage and grilled chicken, served over penne pasta with a creamy chipotle sauce and creole seasoning.  For a sweet finish, Blackwall Hitch offers guests the choice of a Monkey Bread, sticky, gooey and cinnamon sweet, or Raspberry Sorbet with fresh berries.

The restaurant is open Monday through Wednesday, from 11 AM to 1 AM, Thursday through Saturday, from 11 AM to 2 AM, and Sunday, from 10 AM to 1 AM.

Jazz Brunch is served Sundays, from 10 AM to 3 PM and features a rotating list of jazz musicians who perform every Sunday.

A late night menu is also available Sunday, from 9 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Thursday, from 10 PM to 11 PM, and Friday and Saturday, from 11 PM to 1 AM.

Happy Hour is served Monday through Friday, from 3 PM to 7 PM and live music is performed Wednesday through Sunday.
