MVT: MVTCID Welcomes Kenyattah Robinson as President and Chief Executive Officer

New Pres/CEO of MVTCID Kenyattah Robinson Opening Speech

A large crowd showed up as MVT CID had an open-house on Thursday to give residents the opportunity to welcome Kenyattah Robinson to his new position  as President and Chief Executive Officer. His task, to enhance and grow economic development of the vibrant Mount Vernon Triangle community. In his first speech to the community it seems that MVTCID made an excellent choice, that will provide a continuation (and growth) of the strategy of the past few years. Mr Robinson is a resident of Mount Vernon Triangle, so there is "skin in the game" as the balance between growth and family neighborhood continues to play out.

“As a longtime resident of Mount Vernon Triangle, the opportunity to lead this organization, to connect with the neighborhood and make an impact, was incredibly compelling,” said Robinson. “Mount Vernon Triangle is one of the fastest growing and most vibrant communities in Washington, DC, yet has a uniquely welcoming, neighborhood culture. With more construction, more new retail on the horizon, there is no doubt that Mr. Robinson will be busy in the coming months, and as he hinted in the opening speech, green space is high on his agenda, and there are many events planned for the neighborhood this year that will also target families. Neighborhood seems to be a key component of Mr. Robinson's plans.
