DUPONT: Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve at The Riggsby

On Christmas Eve, The Riggsby will offer all-night happy hour to guests who show up in an ugly Christmas sweater. The bar will also feature their aged eggnog, dubbed Eggnog Allen Poe ($12), which contains a blend of three varieties of alcohol with heavy cream, half and half, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg infused whole milk and is aged for six weeks and mixed with select liquors. Mulled wine will also be available in addition to their happy hour menu. The restaurant will be closed on Christmas day.

For New Year’s Eve, The Riggsby will offer a $95 four-course prix fixe menu featuring dishes like short rib onion soup, seared foie gras, lobster thermidor and molten chocolate cake.

Downstairs on New Year’s Eve, the restaurant will also host a Casino Night from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. with a live jazz trio, DJ, and casino games such as roulette, craps, blackjack, poker and slots. Tickets are priced at $125 and include an open bar with specialty cocktails such as the Pear Pressure (vodka, ginger, sage, dry curaçao), beer, wine, and a midnight Champagne toast. Hors d’oeuvres such as shrimp rolls, sliders, cheese and charcuterie, deviled eggs and other signature items will be available throughout the evening. Casino chips may be traded in at the end of the night to enter the raffle for prizes including restaurant gift cards, hotel room stays and large format bottles.
