SHAW: Espita Mezcaleria Debuts Happy Hour
Master Mezcalier Josh Phillips is pleased to debut a new Happy Hour at Espita Mezcaleria,
the popular Southern Mexican-inspired restaurant located in the Shaw
neighborhood of Washington, DC at 1250 9th Street, NW. Guests
can join in the fun at the restaurant’s new Happy Hour daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.,
and enjoy mescal-focused craft cocktails, beer, wine, as well as
traditional Oaxacan cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Alexis Samayoa.
Happy Hour drinks specials are available in the 26-seat bar and
throughout the dining room.
Happy Hour food specials are limited to bar
patrons only.
Guests can look forward to dishes such as Hamburguesa Torta, short rib patty with green chorizo, rajas, queso Oaxaca, lime mayo, arugula, and salsa roja, priced at $16, orTlacoyos, masa turnover with a choice of chorizo verde with salsa roja, chicken tinga with salsa verde, or queso Oaxaca with cilantro and crema, ranging in price from $6 to $7 can also enjoy the newest addition to the Happy Hour menu, single tacos, available to order mix and match, and priced at $5 each. Highlights include Maitake Mushroom with salsa borracha and pickled white onion; Grilled Tilapia with pickled carrot and cabbage slaw and chipotle mayo; Chicken with red bell pepper sofrito; Al Pastor with salsa ranchera and seared pineapple; Skirt Steak with salsa baga and cilantro, or Smoked Pork Jowl with mustard oil mayo, shredded lettuce and red onion.
For the perfect pairing, guests can experience a tempting selection of craft cocktails such as Estocada, a floral take on a mezcal negroni; Winter Tequila Sangria with pear and elderflower; Rum Punch with vino tinto, citrus and yellow chartreuse, as well as Rotating Draft Beer; House Red and White Wine, Shot + Beer, Miller High Life and one ounce of El Buho Espadin on the side, or simply a Carafe of Mezcal, six-ounce pour of El Buho Espadin. Happy Hour beverages range in price from $5 to $21. Additionally, Espita Mezcaleria will offer guests a featured mezcal each week, available in one, two, and six-ounce pours, which will be offered at half price during Happy Hour.
