ALEXANDRIA: Blackwall Hitch and Alexandria Restaurant Week - Starts February 18

Waterfront Blackwall Hitch, located at 5 Cameron Street, in Alexandria, will celebrate Alexandria Restaurant Week by offering guests exclusive prix fixe menus during both lunch and dinner service featuring seasonal American fare prepared by Executive Chef Mente Lawson.  Diners can look forward to a two-course lunch menu priced at $20 per person and three-course dinner menu priced at $35 per person (tax and gratuity not included).  Alexandria Restaurant Week will run from February 18th through February 26th.  At lunch, first course options include The Blackwall Salad with fresh field greens, grape tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, diced red onions, shredded carrots and a signature Blackwall Hitch house vinaigrette dressing; Autumn Arugula Salad with baby arugula, roasted acorn squash, candied walnuts, shredded carrots, pomegranate seeds and a pomegranate-cider dressing; Butternut Squash & Fennel Soup with butternut squash and fennel simmered with aromatic vegetables, garnished with apple cider cream and toasted pumpkin seeds, or Chef’s Seasonal Soup, chef’s seasonal favorites featured daily and made with fresh, local fare.  For the entrée, guests can enjoy dishes such as Southwest Chicken Salad, blackened grilled chicken breast, fresh field greens, sliced avocado, grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, diced red onions, roasted corn salsa, shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla strips, dressed in a house-made honey-chipotle vinaigrette dressing; Hot Pastrami Sandwich, smoked & seasoned pastrami thinly sliced, served on rosemary focaccia with deli-sweet, crunchy Gherkins, signature spicy slaw and 1000 Island dressing; The Caprese Flatbread with fresh burrata cheese, house-made marinara sauce, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil, and the Chicken & Baked Brie Sandwich, grilled chicken breast topped with melted brie cheese, granny smith apple slices and baby arugula, served on a brioche roll brushed with honey-mustard sauce. 
For dinner, guests can enjoy the same appetizer options available during lunch service, followed by tempting entrée options such as Top Sirloin Steak paired with butter-whipped potatoes, thyme-roasted honey-glazed carrots and signature Blackwall Hitch steak sauce; Jumbo Lump Crab Mac & Cheese, jumbo lump crab meat baked into a rich cheddar béchamel with elbow macaroni and Old Bay seasoning, garnished with cherry pepper relish; Shrimp & Grits with sautéed jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage and tomatoes, served in a white wine Creole sauce over velvety cheddar grits, or the Bayou Penne Pasta with jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage, grilled chicken breast, creamy chipotle sauce, penne pasta and creole seasoning.  For a sweet finish, guest will savor tempting desserts options such as Apple-Cranberry Oat Crumble with roasted Fuji apples and dried cranberries, topped with crumbly cinnamon oats, served à la mode with vanilla ice cream, or Chocolate Flourless Torte with both chocolate and cocoa, strawberry sauce, white chocolate shavings and chocolate cocoa powder.

Blackwall Hitch’s Alexandria Restaurant Week menu will be available from February 18-26.  The restaurant is open Monday through Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Thursday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
