Bastille Presents an All Dessert Tasting Dinner
How often have we all thought that dinner would be great if we could just start with dessert? On Wednesday, October 25th beginning at 6:30 pm, diners FINALLY get their ‘just desserts’ as Bastille’s Executive Pastry Chef/ Owner Michelle Poteaux presents a five-course dinner featuring a combination of the savory and sweet flavors that play off each other in a combination of “entrée and dessert” style offerings on the menu. The courses are paired with the appropriate vintage to make all of the elements really shine. The cost is $89 including pairings. Taxes and gratuities are not included.
The menu begins with an Aperitif of gougères paired with Chardonnay, Gruet “Sauvage” New Mexico, Brut Nature followed by Valrhona white chocolate cauliflower panacotta caviar, with “everything” Kataifi paired with Pinot Gris, Adelsheim, Willamette Valley, OR 2015; followed by Sweet potato and Orelys Namelaka, seared Scallop with maple miso ice cream and pecan sweet potato tuile with Chardonnay, Browne Family Vineyards “Heritage”, Columbia Valley, WA 2016; Chicken & Waffles--Belgium waffle, fried chicken livers and maple sabayon with Merlot/Corvina/Corvinone, Gran Passione “Baby Amarone”, Veneto Italy 2016; Profiteroles au Roquefort with pear compote and walnuts paired with Sémillon, La Fleur d’Or, Sauternes, Bordeaux 2013 and a grand finale of Valrhona chocolate macaron with bittersweet chocolate crèmeux, banana ice cream and passion fruit with Quinta de la Rosa “Lote 601” Ruby Port, Douro, Portugal NV.
