FAIRFAX: A Straight-Up Good Time for IPA Day at The Black Squirrel Dunn Loring - August 3

A Crooked Run -- A Straight-Up Good Time for IPA Day at The Black Squirrel Dunn Loring

The Black Squirrel Restaurant and Bar loves a good IPA. That explains its embrace of the Leesburg-based Crooked Run Brewing and the meet-and-greet session with co-owner Lee Rogan this Thursday (August 3), starting at 5 p.m. for IPA Day.

Conveniently enough, Crooked Run has devised a hybrid New England/West Coast IPA mash-up-produced beer. Dub it a Virginia-style IPA.

On tap from Crooked Run will be the Apricot Heart and Soul IPA (a special-release version in commemoration of the brewery’s fourth birthday) and Strength and Honor IPA (a 6.5 percent hazy IPA brewed with a unique blend of fruit yeast).

In addition to Crook Run, the Black Squirrel in Dunn Loring will showcase a bevy of Virginian IPAs: the Vanish Ghost Fleet White IPA (Leesburg), Hardywood The Great Return (Richmond) and Parkway Get Bent Mountain IPA (Salem).

This Virginia-themed suds function is no stretch for a venue that has fashioned a largely local beverage program, from the beer to the wine and spirits.
