La Colombe: Todd's Bringing his Dragon to DC

By now the whole coffee world knows about Todd Carmichael's introduction of his brewing invention "The Dragon" at the 2014 US Brewers Cup championships. Developed by Todd and his team at La Colombe, and described as;
"a riff on the centuries-old vacuum coffee maker tradition, albeit with a decidedly 21st century perspective and a far-out look."

"The Dragon deconstructs and rearranges syphon-style brewing in order to give increased control over brew parameters like temperature, as well as manual control of the vacuum effect used to draw coffee through a syphon filter. In a standard syphon, the vacuum is created by applying, then removing heat from a lower sealed chamber. This is sometimes done with butane or alcohol heaters, and sometimes with heat from an adjustable halogen bulb"
So DC here's your chance to see Todd and his Dragon perform. Come to La Colombe Cafe in Blagden Alley NW, on May 22nd at 2pm and see The Dragon in its first public appearance (outside of the 2014 Brewers Cup). There could be a surprise on tap as well....maybe

This is one of those must go MAJOR events....join Gregg and his team with guest
Todd Carmichael....see you there.
