ALEXANDRIA: Blackwall Hitch Ushers in Autumn with Seasonal Craft Cocktails

Blackwall Hitch, located on the waterfront in Old Town, Alexandria, is debuting its new seasonal cocktail list, just in time for autumn gatherings.  Guests can settle into Blackwall Hitch's 250-seat main dining room, with three inviting bars indoors as well as one on the outdoor patio, and indulge in seasonal craft cocktails, while savoring the excellent views of the Potomac River.  You can sip libations and enjoy complimentary live music four nights a week showcasing both local and touring musicians.  Live music is available Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM to 1 AM, Thursdays from 9:30 PM to 1 AM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM
 
New seasonal cocktails are prepared by Blackwall Hitch Annapolis General Manager Chris Bassett include Grapefruit Wine Crush with grapefruit vodka, Lillet Blanc, fresh grapefruit, and agave nectar; the Thyme is of the Effervescence with floral gin, seasonal cranberries, thyme, and topped with bubbles for a light refreshing winter hi-ball, and the Pear and Prosecco Smash with autumnal flavors of pear complemented with prosecco.  Guests can also order modern spins on the classics such as the Dirty Hitch with Ketel One vodka, olive juice, tabasco, and bleu cheese stuffed olives; the Cherry Sage Manhattan with cherry and sage infused vermouth and rye whiskey for a seasonal take on the classic Manhattan; the Rum Raisin Old Fashioned with Flor de Cana five year rum and raisin syrup for a interesting flavorful twist on this traditional favorite; the Sidecar, a liberal take on the traditional, using vanilla and habanero syrup for a little warming feeling, and the Figgy Mule with fig flavored vodka, lime, and ginger beer.
For those who are looking for a bold and adventurous experience, Blackwall Hitch offers some unique cocktails such as the Smokin’ Apples with smokey mezcal, Applejack brandy, cinnamon, and celery; the Earl’s Honey Toddy with Cognac, Honey Jack, and an Earl Grey syrup; Mulled Wine, a traditional cold weather drink with red wine, Armenian brandy, and winter spices; the Lineman’s Coffee with Horchata, agave, pisco and coffee, topped with hazelnut cream, as well as the Burnt Sienna with rye whiskey and pumpkin liqueur, seasoned with blood orange bitters.  Cocktails range in price from $12 to $14.
