On Thursday, October 6, Urban Country home furnishings in Bethesda Row is hosting a special 25th Anniversary Celebration and Silent Auction fete with proceeds benefiting The Power of Pink – a local breast cancer fundraising group. The event is open to the public with complimentary champagne, wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres served throughout the evening.

Urban Country is tickled pink to celebrate 25. The Bethesda-based retailer is marking its silver anniversary of providing luxury interior design services and home furnishings to the national capital region while raising money for local breast cancer health services. On Thursday, October 6 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., Urban Country will host its annual fall fundraiser event; this year the Silver Anniversary Celebration & Silent Auction will benefit The Power of Pink – a unique fundraising group dedicated to raising funds for local organizations that provide breast health services to women, regardless of their ability to pay.
One hundred percent of all funds donated to The Power of Pink will be given to the Arlington Free Clinic, Capital Breast Care Center and Mercy Health Clinic, all helping those in need. This year’s anniversary event is even more significant since Rachelle Roth, founder and owner of Urban Country, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2015. She is now in remission and back to her normal routine at Urban Country.
Numerous local and national home furnishing brands are donating a variety of items for the silent auction including merchandise and gift baskets provided by Bethesda Row and DC-area boutiques, restaurants and other local retailers.
This year’s special celebrity guest and Master of Ceremonies is Tommy McFly, host of the popular The Tommy Show – 94.7 Fresh FM’s weekday morning variety talk program -- and WUSA9 entertainment correspondent.
