Internationally renowned and award winning Washington, DC-based interior designer, Thomas Pheasant returns to the iconic Hay-Adams hotel to make design enhancements just in time for the fall travel season to the nation’s capital. As of September 9th, all the hotel’s 145 guest units (124 rooms and 21 suites) will be updated with a fresh look in keeping with this historic landmark hotel’s stately and luxurious persona. Pheasant’s diverse accomplishments have been widely published in the most prestigious architectural and interior design magazines around the world for both his residential and commercial projects.
“We are pleased to work with Thomas Pheasant once again at The Hay-Adams as he was also the designer of record for our last two incredibly successful renovations,” states Vice President & General Manager Hans Bruland. “The hotel closed in October 2001 reopening in March 2002, after a $20 million renovation that was orchestrated by Pheasant. Then in 2010, we tapped him to create the rooftop terrace event space, Top of the Hay, which was completed in January 2011.”
"The interiors of The Hay-Adams are evolving to reflect the changing advancements of modern living while retaining its reputation for traditional style and historic importance,” explains Thomas Pheasant.
Guestrooms and suites will sport a new 50 to 55-inch Samsung Smart TV, and furthermore, Bluetooth Soundlink speakers and mobile charging stations are also guest enhancements for each room.

The Hay-Adams is located at 800 16th Street, NW
