CLEVELAND PARK: Indique Launches New Community-focused Co-working Membership with a Culinary Twist - 'Chai + Wifi' - Monday, October 3rd
Following a successful week-long open house including a kick-off collaboration event with A Creative DC, beginning on Monday, October 3rd - celebrated modern Indian restaurant Indique - known for its creative Indian cuisine - is launching Chai + Wifi - an affordable membership and community-based co-working space where individuals are invited to gather, network, and get stuff done in Cleveland Park.
Chai + Wifi - affordably priced at $35 per month - is available Monday through Friday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM at Indique and is the brainchild of Sahil Rahman, son of co-owner Surfy Rahman, and was brought to life after Sahil and his business partner Rahul Vinod, son of co-owner Chef K.N. Vinod, experienced numerous issues while attempting to work from various coffee shops and co-working spaces currently available throughout Washington DC.
Setting up shop for the day in crowded coffee shops was not only frustrating for the duo – scrambling to secure seating, finding reliable Wifi, and locating power outlets – but also expensive given the need to continue purchasing beverages and snacks throughout the day. The co-working spaces Sahil and Rahul personally experienced during their search were simply too expensive to commit to, and after becoming increasingly frustrated with their options, they began working out of of the family restaurant, Indique, out of convenience. After a few months of working out of the restaurant, they realized the cozy and light-filled space made for the perfect co-working environment, offering an ideal solution to their problem.
With Indique currently closed for lunch Monday – Thursday and realizing others throughout the city might be experiencing similar struggles with coffee shop and pricey co-working options, they realized there was an exciting opportunity for them to creatively re-purpose the restaurant into a co-working space during the daytime utilizing the beautiful space and sharing it with the community. Chai + Wifi was created offering individuals strong WiFi, unlimited Chai, ample power outlets, and the opportunity to connect with fellow members in a beautiful and affordable space that is conveniently located directly above the Cleveland Park metro station.
To provide interested individuals the opportunity to experience the space prior to committing to a membership, guests are invited to test out the program for free on their first day, and from there have the option to sign on for a membership paying for monthly, weekly, or daily passes. Non-members are also invited to purchase tea/coffee to-go, and the team at Indique is also exploring the possibility of adding a limited afternoon menu in the near future.
Indique recently underwent a refresh and relaunched to the public offering completely revamped F&B menus, renovations featuring a refreshed look including new handcrafted artwork courtesy of a talented family member, and a one-of-a-kind new beverage program featuring handcrafted cocktails as a result of bringing DC-based mixtress and cocktail consultant Carlie Steiner of Stir Bartending Co. on board.

“We’re extremely excited to introduce Chai + Wifi to the creative community in Washington DC", said Sahil Rahman. "It’s an experiment in co-working and community that takes advantage of our existing space in a productive and creative manner that is beneficial for the city, and we feel that it will fill a need in both the broader market and the neighborhood. As we get started, we’re really looking forward to expanding the membership program and sharing our model with the Cleveland Park community and beyond.”
