LOGAN: HOLM Apartments Open in DC’s Logan Circle Neighborhood
The remarkably rapid transformation of Washington, DC’s Logan Circle neighborhood continues with the opening of HOLM, a 38-unit luxury apartment building at 1550 11th Street, NW. CAS Riegler completed construction of this modern, four-story structure on one of the area’s last developable land parcels, formerly used by Diamond Cab. HOLM includes approximately 3,000 square feet (SF) of street-level retail space that will soon be home to a highly anticipated restaurant.
Architect Hickok Cole’s contemporary design for HOLM seamlessly blends with its surroundings. From the building’s party-perfect rooftop deck, residents and guests can gaze over the historic houses and church spires of Shaw and Logan Circle to view the Washington Monument and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. There’s even a glimpse of the Capitol dome.
HOLM’s unique features include a rooftop penthouse structure with an open roof deck and catering kitchen. Each duplex penthouse residence has its own second-level studio space opening to a private roof deck area. Almost all of HOLM’s one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes have private terraces and/or balconies; residents of the English basement units will enjoy private entrances.
The common areas of HOLM are alive with greenery. The exterior architectural steel staircase will be planted with a “living wall.” An extensive green roof covers the access-controlled, below-grade parking garage for 14 cars along with bicycle storage. And there’s even more green space in the building’s private courtyard.
HOLM’s modern apartment interiors are designed for functionality and efficient use of space. Custom built-in wardrobes and European frameless cabinetry maximize storage space; some units have space-saving sliding barn doors as well. Expansive windows and open-air corridors maximize natural daylighting in every apartment. Each residence is pre-wired for FIOS fiber optic connectivity; other high-tech features include in-wall USB outlets and Nest learning thermostats.
Spa-style bathrooms in HOLM’s apartment homes offer serene showers and/or soaking tubs, along with European floating vanities, custom mirrors, square under-mount Kohler Vigo sinks, and water-conserving dual-flush Porcelanosa toilets. Kitchens have stainless steel appliances, sleek cabinetry, and Grohe faucets.
This new apartment community is pet-friendly and is situated right across the street from the popular Shaw Dog Park, is a 15,000 SF, fenced-in public park where dog owners can bring their dogs and allow them to play and socialize off-leash. The park offers a small enclosure for dogs under 25 pounds, physically challenged dogs, and senior dogs, and a larger, more active play area for ball tossing and running. Adjacent to the dog park is a recreation center and children’s playground.
Monthly rental prices start at $2,250 for one-bedroom apartments and $3,200 for two-bedroom units; penthouse apartments range from $4,200 (for a one-bedroom unit) to over $7,500 for a three-bedroom residence. For leasing information, call 202-600-9462 or visit www.holmdc.com.
