TAKOMA: New Cocktails, Live Music and Friendsgiving at Takoma's Republic

A few new happenings at Republic over the next month, including new cocktails from bar manager and assistant general manager Brett Robison, a “Friendsgiving” party, and upcoming live music shows.
The restaurant’s new cocktail menu can be found here - highlights include:

  • Flannel Pig ($12) 
  • Pig’s Nose Blended Scotch, Dolin Génépy, Alexandro Moscatel Dulce Sherry, Angostura flamed apples.A warming scotch cocktail for the winter time in a surprisingly delicate balance of flavors
  • Honey & Cream ($12)
  • Laird's Applejack, Don Ciccio & Figli's Amaro delle Sirene, Bee George Honey from Takoma Park, whipping cream, fresh grated nutmeg An homage to the venerable Milk & Honey bar, this is our take on a Brandy Alexander
  • Post-modern Toddy ($12)
  • George Dickel Rye Whiskey, cinnamon-anise sizzurp, 182°F water, Angostura bitters, lemon peel. A throwback to the classic hot toddy with familiar ingredients presented in a modern fashion
  • The Van Buren ($12)
  • Louthan’s Baltimore Corn Whiskey, Campari, Sacred Spiced Vermouth, kosher salt, orange peel Bitter whiskey cocktail with a lasting bite sure to remind you of Van Buren Street
    Republic Friendsgiving
    On Thanksgiving eve, Wednesday, November 25, Republic will celebrate "Friendsgiving," a game night meets karaoke happy hour. 
    Beginning at 10:00 p.m., Friendsgiving, will feature board games, available for all patrons
    • Cards for Humanity Balderdash, 
    • Monopoly, 
    • Life, 
    • Candyland, 
    • Taboo and 
    • Uno 
    Drink specials and a karaoke competition that will begin at 10:00 p.m.

    Takoma Park born blues legend Warner Williams will continue his residency at Republic on the first Monday of each month, for the restaurant’s popular Blues Mondays. Local favorites such as blues performer Jonny Grave and Baltimore-based rock band Teen Suicide will round out the month.
